Why do I miss my MOTHER so much after marriage

IWill blogs

AT my home, in the morning, the thing MY MOM  would ask me was what I LIKE TO EAT. it would be so hot and she would cook all those meals for me.

After marriage, when I do all of that was done for me, no one appreciates me.

When I used to be sad or in pain, MY MOTHER would see it and ask me what was wrong, here even when I cry or feel alone for days, no one notices it even.

When I was at home, and someone said something to me, MY MOM would fiercely defend me; if someone else said something about me, she would get angry and make sure I was taken care of.

But here, rather than protecting, people at my husband's home pass remarks at me, I didn't do this or that correctly. I faltered here and there. Rather than feeling protected, i feel attacked in my own place.

My mom would not start a conversation until I was home. She would also make me the decision-maker on small things. To her, my opinion was the world.

Here, no one even involves me in their conversation. No one even makes me a part or asks me even when I am sitting there. There are announcements of things about me.

Also, when my mom sees me and my husband together. She blesses. She cries in happiness. She loves us.

But when others see me here with my husband, they make remarks on me. They tell him how he needs to love the family first, as if this is a competition. I miss my mother after marriage because I miss the home her love created for me.

I thought I was coming to HOME after marriage, to love, to warmth. But all I am here are rules, are duties, are talks where love's meaning is to serve. I was so depressed with the lack of love and home feeling.

I joined IWill therapy, and it was here that my therapist helped me learn to assert. Also, she helped me see that I needed to connect with my family, loved ones, and she slowly motivated me to get my work started, which I was unable to do without therapy due to lack of motivation. She also helped me to speak to.

She helped me speak to my husband and make him understand what I was going through.

He also agreed to join couples therapy with me, and that helped him see how loveless and lonely my world was at his place.

Things started changing with me doing more of the things I love, with my husband including me in things and loving me and also giving me the value I deserved

I miss my mother even now, but not in the pain and agony that I was put through. I am so thankful for therapy at IWill, but I wanted to share why so many women miss their mothers so much after marriage.

Yes, distance and lack of closeness are reasons, but the most important could be this feeling of homelessness.
